Our purpose-built pre-school setting is located within the grounds of Jolly Rodgers Day Nursery and offers children access to spacious indoor and outdoor learning environments. From sensory play, art and construction areas to our exciting outdoor spaces featuring mud kitchens, climbing equipment, planting areas and a fairy forest, every day brings new opportunities for discovery. We believe children learn best through hands-on experiences, so outdoor play and exploration are an important part of daily life at Jolly Pirates, whatever the weather.

At Jolly Pirates, children learn through play in a safe, structured and engaging environment. Our curriculum focuses on developing confidence, independence, communication, creativity, physical skills and early mathematical understanding. Learning is guided by children’s interests through exciting monthly themes and projects, helping every child become an active participant in their own learning journey. Our experienced and fully qualified staff support each child to develop at their own pace while building the skills they need for a smooth transition to primary school.

Working in Partnership with Parents

We believe that parents are a child’s first and most important educators. That’s why we encourage strong partnerships between home and pre-school through our open-door approach, regular communication and family involvement opportunities. Parents can stay connected through the Famly app, where they can receive updates, photos and information about their child’s day. We also offer play-and-stay sessions, parent meetings and regular progress updates to ensure families feel informed and involved every step of the way.

Each child is supported by a dedicated key worker who monitors their progress and helps them achieve their full potential. For families who require additional childcare, flexible wraparound care is available through Jolly Rodgers Day Nursery.
